What can I expect?

You can expect to walk in and see people that are a reflection of Lake Charles itself- diverse, authentic, from every walk of life, wearing anything from casual to professional attire, and people genuinely caring about other people and doing life together.  We hope that you will feel welcomed and right at home.

You can expect a time of worship filled with lively, contemporary, powerful music in many different styles that reflect our diversity as a people. This is our time to celebrate God together and reflect on who He is, His great love for us, and all He has done.

You can expect to hear the good news of the gospel and biblical truths in a package that is humorous, heartfelt, easy to understand, challenging, and applicable to your every day life.

You can expect this entire power-packed experience in about an hour and fifteen minutes.  No, really.

 

Whether you’re new to Lake Charles, , new to church, new to Jesus, or all of the above, visiting/finding a church can come with lots of questions.  Here’s the answer to some you might have.  If you have more, ask us at riverchurchlakecharles@gmail.com  Ask anything you like.

Where are you located/when is your service?

We meet at the Cinemark Lake Charles Theater at 548 West Prien Lake Road theater 13.  We start at 9:15 am sharp.  The big, comfy seats seem to be a particularly popular bonus of meeting in a theater.

What do you have for my kids?

We’re glad you asked that.  We work hard to provide a safe and fun environment that your kids will not only love, but they will learn about God, too.  Although initially they might be a little dismayed that church does not include a full screening of a movie and popcorn, they will still enjoy themselves. K-Force is an exciting place where age appropriate material is taught to children ages four months to 5th grade.  We have a welcome table as you walk in the theater where you can register your kids (and get some goodies for yourself). After we sing a couple of songs together in the theater, we have a meet and greet time where they will be dismissed and taken to their class.  Click on our K-Force Children’s Ministry page for all the details.
